United Farm Workers & UFW Foundation on Build Back Better Framework

Washington, D.C. – Today, President Biden released his Build Back Better framework which includes the investment of $100 billion for immigration reform.

United Farm Workers President Teresa Romero, said:

“Undocumented farm workers have continued to work through escalating risks to feed this country and Congress and the administration must work just as hard to ensure that they deliver tangible relief. We applaud this step forward and remain committed to holding Democrats accountable – we must win on immigration, this year. Sí se puede!”

UFW Foundation Executive Director Diana Tellefson Torres, said:

“The inclusion of immigration reform in President Biden’s framework for the Build Back Better legislation is a crucial step toward protecting the vital members of our nation and economy, including undocumented farm workers who feed us without regard to party affiliation and deserve a stable future in the nation they feed. Today, we are one step closer to victory as a result of the strength of our movement and the relentless work by millions of undocumented Americans who remain determined to win this year. This is the year Democrats will deliver on immigration and we will prevail.”
