Join the Farm Workers as we thank Arturo S. Rodríguez for a life time of achievements. For nearly 60 years the UFW has worked to improve farm worker lives across California and the nation. Arturo S. Rodríguez selflessly dedicated 45 of those years to the cause, 25 of them as president after Cesar Chavez’s passing in 1993. Arturo built a solid leadership team for the future. With your help, he succeeded in:
· Winning landmark legislative and regulatory victories for all California farm workers, from the historic law granting field workers overtime pay after eight hours a day to the first state regulations in the nation preventing deaths and illnesses from extreme heat.
· Making the UFW a national leader for immigration reform, including negotiating the first agricultural immigration reform bill in more than 30 years to pass the U.S. House floor on a bipartisan vote in December 2019.
So please join us on December 9, to honor Arturo as we keep making progress by building upon Cesar and Arturo’s legacies on behalf of the people for whom they dedicated their lives.
