Farm Workers Say ‘No’ to Chemical Exposure

What: UFW launches awareness campaign to protect farm workers from chemical exposure while working in the fields.  The union is also calling for industry leaders to launch a similar campaign to protect the health of the farm workers who work to feed this nation daily.

Within the last two weeks, workers from both Giumarra Vineyards and Jack Pandol – two Kern County table-grape companies – were exposed to chemicals.  Many of the chemicals and pesticides used in the fields have the potential to seriously harm human beings.
