One hundred United Farm Workers activists will join Lt. Gov. Cruz M. Bustamante, UFW President Arturo Rodriguez and Assembly Majority Floor Leader Marco Antonio Firebaugh (D-Los Angeles) in campaigning Saturday morning in Coachella for 80th Assembly District Democratic candidate Joey Acuña. It is part of an all-out drive by the Cesar Chavez-founded union to turn out Latino voters for Acuña and other UFW-backed candidates.

Immediately after a 10 a.m. get-out-the-vote rally at the UFW’s Coachella headquarters, UFW members and supporters will join Bustamante, Rodriguez, Firebaugh and Acuña by walking precincts door-to-door in Coachella.

Who:    Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, UFW President Arturo Rodriguez, Assembly Majority Floor Leader Marco Antonio Firebaugh, Assembly candidate Joey Acuña, 100 farm worker activists.

What:   A get-out-the-vote rally followed by precinct walking in Coachella.

When:   10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002.

Where:  UFW office, 51800 Harrison Street #3 (at 52nd Ave.) Coachella.
