Only one word to describe Donald Trump after his remarks about Mexican immigrants: racist

Univision, the huge Spanish-language television network, won’t broadcast the Miss Universe pageant, which is partly owned by Donald Trump, because of Trump’s insults against Mexico and Mexican immigrants to this country when the billionaire real estate tycoon announced last week that he is running for president as a Republican. Trump blames “the media” for taking his remarks out of context. Here’s what Trump actually said: The U.S. “has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems…When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

Trump’s own words cannot be more clear. He’s talking about the human beings whose hard work produces our food, cleans our homes and cares for our children and our elderly, too often for poverty pay and under abusive and unsafe conditions. Without their labor and sacrifice, whole sectors of the American economy would collapse, from agriculture to the service industry to construction to manufacturing.

There is only one word to describe Donald Trump in light of those comments: racist.
