Salinas, CA – The United Farm Workers Foundation (UFWF) will be holding the Grand Opening ceremony of its new office located at 427 Pajaro Street, Ste. 3, in Salinas from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Event speakers include Jasmin Gutierrez, a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) grantee, a representative from the office of Monterey County Supervisor Fernando Armenta and Ricardo Nunez of the UFW Foundation. The public is invited to attend.

"The UFW Foundation opened its first office in Salinas in 2008, but the response from the community has been incredible, so we decided to move to a bigger location to better meet the need for services and information," said Ricardo Nunez.

"One of our goals this year is to help families and individuals to prepare for the immigration reform once it passes," Nunez added.

The UFWF will hold informational forums on immigration on the following dates:
•         June 4, 6 p.m., Deferred Action.
•         June 6, 6 p.m., Citizenship.
•         June 15, 6 p.m., U-Visa.
•         June 17, 6 p.m., Family Petitions.
•         June 22, 11 a.m., Citizenship.
•         June 25, 6 p.m., Deferred Action.

The UFW Foundation’s mission is to open the doors of opportunity for working people and their communities. All cases are reviewed by the UFW Foundation’s immigration attorney. The UFW Foundation is recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) through the U.S. Department of Justice to provide legal immigration advice to the community.  The UFWF is excited to continue to serve the Central Coast. In California, the organization has offices in Bakersfield, Salinas, and Fresno. It also counts with an office in Phoenix, Arizona.
