Esparza de la Paz is currently in charge of feeding cows for dairy and meat products in Eastern Oregon to support his family. As a father of four with ten grandchildren, he would potentially benefit from the Obama administrative relief. He has a son, who’s a permanent resident. He’ll apply for DAPA through him. One of his daughters already has benefited from DACA, and two more daughters, who may potentially qualify for the new DAPA program as well.ý He said, ‘his family is here, so he feels his roots are here in the U.S.’
The bilingual town hall with President Obama will be moderated by Jose Diaz Balart. The groundbreaking event, pre-recorded at Florida International University in Miami, will be the first time that the President will officially meet undocumented Americans, in person face-to-face to answer questions. Despite all the recent attacks on immigrant families in Congress and in the courts, President Obama plans to use the forum to speak to America and the community directly impacted. He’ll explain to them directly how he’ll defend the new immigration programs.

Joining Raul is also Martha and Juan Cruz from Homestead, Florida.
Martha has worked at nurseries, packing plants for green beans and tomatoes, as a baby sitter and now at a fruit store. Juan has worked in the oranges, lemons and currently, works at a nursery. Juan and his wife also have two daughters Nayely, 16, and Brenda Guadalupe, 10. Both were born in the U.S. For the past year, their eldest son Juan Francisco, 19, has been battling cancer. Currently, because of chemotherapy his cancer has slowed down. Although Juan Francisco qualified for DACA, his parents were too preoccupied with his health to help him apply. Juan and Martha remain optimist that Obama’s executive order will come to fruition and he and his wife will be able to apply for DAPA.
