I just returned from a quick trip to Washington, D.C. where it was sad to hear stories from many immigrants and their families struggling because our government is unwilling to take positive action on immigration reform. At the same time I was very encouraged by comments from U.S. Representatives Nydia Velasquez and Luis Gutierrez, and U.S. Senator Bob Menendez. It appears all of them are committed to fighting for passage of the DREAM Act that would help hundreds of thousands of young people get an opportunity for an education. I was also encouraged by their continued advocating for helping farm workers and their families.
