This Monday, August 30, we received a call from Mary Williams, wife of Manuel Vasquez, to let us know the sad news Manuel had passed away earlier that morning. Manuel was one of the pioneering 1965 Delano grape strikers who sacrificed everything to help build a strong and democratic union for farm workers. Manuel never asked for anything, but was always there ready and willing to give of himself time and time again. He will always be remembered as another one of the heroes who dedicated his life to improving the lives of others. Viva Manuel Vasquez!
