CSUS president is keynote speaker
ROCKLIN – The president of California State University, Sacramento, will be a keynote speaker Saturday at the eighth annual Cesar Chavez Youth Leadership Conference at Sierra College.
Alexander Gonzalez, who has led Sacramento State since 2003, will speak during a lunch program that begins at 12:30 p.m. in the college’s Dietrich Theater.
Also delivering a keynote address will be Gabriel Garcia, associate dean of admissions at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
More than 40 workshops on subjects ranging from how to get into college or law school, to how to work in the media will be offered during the conference, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is free, along with a free breakfast and lunch.
The conference is sponsored by the Hispanic Empowerment Association of Roseville.
