President Obama meets with the Chavez Family and UFW President and signs a proclamation in honor of Cesar Chavez Day
President Obama is meeting with members of the Chavez family, UFW President Arturo S. Rodriguez and UFW co-founder Dolores Huerta at the White House on what would have been the farm labor and civil rights leader’s 83rd birthday at the White House’s Oval Office.
The President will then sign a proclamation designating March 31, 2010 as Cesar Chavez Day.
The event, which is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31, at 2:40 p.m. at the Oval Office is closed to the press.
