No Rest on the Path to Citizenship
House GOP inaction on path to citizenship triggers national mobilizations in August and September. Immigrant rights leaders meeting in Los Angeles announce major actions.
Los Angeles, CA – United Farm Workers, UFW Foundation, Cesar Chavez Foundation and Campesina Radio Network join immigrant rights leaders, labor unions, faith organizations, student groups, elected officials, friends and allies, with a sense of urgency and unity to announce a series of major mobilizations throughout California in what is expected to be a major push for immigration reform in 2013.
More than 150 actions just in the state of California are currently scheduled and more are expected. The targets remain the hesitant leadership in the House of Representatives and Republican House Members such as Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield), Cook, Denham, McKeon, Miller, and Issa.
