While hundreds of immigration rights activists rallied outside of the U.S. Supreme Court in support of President Obama’s executive action on immigration, dozens of cities, including Bakersfield, held local actions to show their support.

Locals joined together Monday morning outside of the UFW Foundation office in Bakersfield.

"I am standing in solidarity with them helping spread the message here at home like they are nationally," said Jose Gurrola, a councilmember with the city of Arvin.

Julie Morales is an organizer with the UFW Foundation.

"We’re just fortunate that we have a community that backs the expanded DACA and DAPA," Morales said.

Morales said the executive orders could benefit millions of undocumented immigrants.

"These parents that go to work every day, they don’t know if they are going to be stopped and deported and not see their U.S. citizen children," she said.

The Supreme Court will decide on the future of the immigration initiatives by late June.
