Final farm worker push for Latino voter turnout Monday

     

One day before the election, elected officials will join farm worker activists in a final all-out push to boost Latino voter turnout at a Salinas area rally.
     
This final campaign event climax efforts by hundreds of farm worker volunteers who have been working long hours each day since Saturday going door-to-door in Monterey, San Benito, Stanislaus, Merced, and Madera counties urging Latinos to go to the polls.  Similar events have been held today in the Coachella and Imperial valleys.

The 2:00 p.m. rally and press conference will be followed by an in-depth discussion of the issues by Senate Candidate Rusty Areias; Senator Martha Escutia, Chair of the Women’s Legislative Caucus; Assemblyman Simon Salinas; and Rosalinda Guillen, National UFW Vice-President.
