Farm workers ‘hopeful’ over U.S. high court taking case on granting limited legal status for undocumented children or the parents of citizens
United Farm Workers President Arturo S. Rodriguez issued the following statement from the union’s Keene, Calif. headquarters after the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear a case involving the legality of President Obama’s executive action temporarily allowing as many as five million undocumented people who came to this country as children or who have U.S. citizen children to stay in this country.
At a time of poisonous anti-immigrant prejudice from Republican presidential candidates, farm workers are hopeful with the Supreme Court decision to hear the case challenging the legality of President Obama’s executive actions granting limited legal status for up to five million undocumented people who came to America as children or who have children who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
