Today the Senate Appropriations Committee voted to add the UFW sponsored Emergency Agricultural Relief Act to the supplemental spending bill.
The majority vote by this group of bipartisan senators led by Sen. Feinstein, demonstrates the very real emergency faced by the agriculture industry in its continuing effort to have a stable workforce to help produce our nation’s food. Our food supply is in crisis. Today’s vote shows that even in an election year, these senators realize the urgent need for action now.
“The Emergency Agriculture Relief Act is a critical, but temporary fix to a much larger problem,” said Arturo Rodriguez, UFW president.
