Event Will Feature Testimony from Undocumented Students, Labor, Clergy

 

LOS ANGELES, CA – Rep. Judy Chu (D-El Monte) will join L.A. County Federation of Labor Secretary General Maria Elena Durazo, UFW President Arturo Rodriguez, and representatives from undocumented student, clergy and immigrants rights groups at a press conference tomorrow lauding the House’s historic passage Wednesday of the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, and urging the Senate to act quickly to approve this important bill and get it to the President’s desk before the end of the current lame duck congressional session.

The event will include testimony in both English and Spanish from undocumented students that would be directly affected by this bill (H.R. 5281), as well as remarks from some of the most important labor and community leaders of the Los Angeles area.
