Cesar Chavez honored in the South Valley
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A march was held in the South Valley Saturday to celebrate the life of the late Civil Rights activist Cesar Chavez.
Dozens gathered in Visalia including members of the "United Farm Workers" union. Chavez’s accomplishments were remembered. The day included games entertainment and educational booths.
Roberto Bustos walked the first march with Chavez from Delano to Sacramento protesting for farm worker’s rights. He says there is still a lot of work ahead to protect migrant workers.
Bustos said, "There’s still a lot of work to be done yet. There are still a lot of farm workers that need to organize. They need to be unionized, they need to be protected. We still gotta continue, you know?"
Several of Cesar Chavez’s children were at the event.
