Watch “Ethel” on HBO at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.
Ethel is a feature length documentary film about the remarkable life of Ethel Kennedy, widow of Robert F. Kennedy, told by those who know Ethel best: her family. Directed by her Emmy-Award winning daughter, Rory Kennedy, the film features candid interviews with Ethel and seven of her children. The documentary is a personal portrait of Ethel’s political awakening, the life she shared with Robert Kennedy and the years following his death when she raised their 11 children on her own.

The film features Robert Kennedy’s close relationship with Cesar Chavez and highlights how, even after Robert’s death in 1968, the bonds were nurtured by Ethel, who passed them to their children. The film shows Ethel’s passion for the cause Cesar Chavez held near and dear to his heart.

The film Ethel is intimate, funny and deeply moving. It offers a rare look inside a political dynasty strengthened by family bonds, a compassion for others and a wisdom forged out of both hardship and triumph. So watch HBO at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.
