WHAT: Senator Dave Cortese (D-San Jose) and United Farm Workers President Teresa Romero will join Yolo County farm workers recently fired for leaving work during extreme heat as they support SB 1299, a novel measure to save farm worker lives by ensuring agricultural employers comply with existing heat prevention injury and illness laws and regulations. Present will be three of the six local field workers fired from their jobs in retaliation for standing up for their health and safety during a recent heat wave.
