With bold strokes of paint, youths with the Boys & Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County in Paso Robles celebrated César Chávez Day on Thursday by working on a mural.

The artwork, located behind the club at 600 26th St., is a multiphase project called the “Be Great Mural.” It has various scenes, each designed to teach youngsters “to be great, reaching their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens,” according to the group. A painting of César Chávez was added to the piece.
