Albuquerque groups march to honor Cesar Chavez
People in Albuquerque celebrated the life of human rights activist Cesar Chavez on Saturday.
The group marched from the National Hispanic Cultural Center to downtown Albuquerque along 4th Street, and back to the NHCC for festivities.
“Because of the great contributions that people have done, the hard work of picking fruit, picking crops for all of us,” Albuquerque City Councilor Rey Garduno said. “The sacrifices that have been made, and the tremendous suffering that they have gone through.”
Several community groups joined the annual march.
