Proposed changes to Cal-OSHA
Undermine Current Heat Regulations
SACRAMENTO, CA – United Farm Workers of America released the following statement today in response to the proposed changes to state regulations aimed to protect farm and other outdoor workers from dying or becoming ill from extreme heat.
"Six farm workers died in the summer of 2008. Stunningly, the proposed clarifications actually weaken and undermine the current regulations."
