Join book signing for UFW in Sacramento with
Richie Ross, Arturo Rodriguez & Darrell Steinberg

Join veteran California political strategist Richie Ross as he signs his new book, "My Letters to Dead People," along with United Farm Workers President Arturo Rodriguez at a Sacramento reception hosted by state Senate leader Darrell Steinberg on Monday, Jan. 3, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Chicory Coffee & Tea, corner of 11th & "L" Streets across the street from the state Capitol. All proceeds go to support advocacy efforts by the UFW.

The book by Ross, who began his social activism with the UFW in the 1960s and has been a key political strategist for the union in recent decades, is "a lively little volume which is one-part personal history and one-part professional perspective about some of the biggest personalities and events of the last four decades in state politics," including Cesar Chavez and Harvey Milk. “Quirky and eclectic, it’s a kind of kaledioscopic, quick-cut narrative framed as a series of wish-I’d-had-a-chance-to-tell-you messages to three-dozen members of the deceased community,” according to the on-line Calbuzz review.
