Fresno, CA – In a private meeting with U.S. Secretary  of Agriculture Tom Vilsack earlier today in Fresno, United Farm Workers President Arturo S. Rodriguez and a group of farm workers asked the White House official for his support to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

Vilsack who was schedule to speak at California State University, Fresno today in support of the Food, Farm and Jobs Bill and comprehensive immigration reform, met privately with Rodriguez and a group of about 20 local farm workers.

Immigration reform legislation pending in the House, which includes special agricultural provisions and was negotiated by the United Farm Workers and major grower associations, would allow farm workers legalize their status by continuing to work in agriculture.
