Farmworkers and Advocates to Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers: Be Bold on Immigration Reform

With McMorris Rodgers Set to Deliver GOP SOTU Response, Advocates and Constituents alike Press Congresswoman to Take a Lead on Immigration Reform

 

Walla Walla, WA– Farmer workers, constituents and immigration reform supporters will lead a rally in front of  Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ Walla Walla office to pressure her to take leadership and push forth immigration reform legislation on  Tuesday, January 28 at 10 a.m. in Walla Walla.

 

Hours before the President’s State of the Union (SOTU) address and the highly anticipated Republican response, that’s expected to be delivered by McMorris Rodgers.  Local farm workers, DREAMers and advocates will gather with a press conference and rally in front of McMorris Rodgers’ Walla Walla office to remind Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers the urgency of immigration reform in 2014.

 

In October last year, McMorris Rodgers promised to make immigration reform a “priority” for 2013 , but failed to keep her word.  Tuesday, advocates will remind McMorris Rodgers of her past promises and insist on her to champion immigration reform.
