UFW in solidarity with San Quintin farm workers
The United Farm Workers stand in solidarity with hundreds of striking farm workers in San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico. Some 30,000 people labor in the agricultural fields approximately 200 miles south of San Diego. This week hundreds of them have walked off the job to protest low wages and increasingly difficult working conditions. Farm workers everywhere deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. They should have the same opportunity to earn a living wage for themselves and their families.
Fundamental labor rights such as those for which the San Quintin workers are struggling are a universal principal that must be respected everywhere.
