UFW ‘human billboard’ line spurs Latino get-out-the-vote in Glendale for Gore, other Democratic Candidates
Dozens of United Farm Workers activists will turn out at 12 noon on Monday to form a "human billboard" line in Glendale as part of the union’s get-out-the-vote effort among Latinos for Vice President Al Gore and pro-farm worker legislative candidates.
UFW billboarders will elicit reactions from passing motorists by holding aloft signs reading "Viva Gore." Other placards will push Democratic congressional candidate Adam Schiff, state Senate candidate Jack Scott and Assembly candidate Dario Frommer. In addition, some signs will promote amnesty for undocumented residents.
