UFW, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to Hold Roundtable Meeting on the Farm Workforce Modernization Act

NEW YORK – On Friday, July 16, UFW President Teresa Romero, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. Congressman Antonio Delgado (D-NY) will hold a conversation on the Farm Workforce Modernization Act with farm workers at SUNY Cobleskill.

The House passed the bipartisan Farm Workforce Modernization Act more than three months ago on a 247 to 174 vote, including 30 Republicans. It is the result of months of intense negotiations between lawmakers from both parties, the United Farm Workers, UFW Foundation, Farmworker Justice and most of the nation’s major grower associations.
