Senate vote imminent: Act to save highest-paying domestic farm jobs

Seattle Councilmembers Join Faith & Labor Leaders Standing With Darigold Farm Workers and Condemning Darigold Dairies’ Treatment of Workers

Monday the Seattle City Council will vote on a resolution in support of Darigold farm workers and their upcoming Fast for Reconciliation. Before the vote, Seattle City Councilmembers Teresa Mosqueda, Lorena González, and Kshama Sawant will join dairy workers, United Farm Workers National Vice President Erik Nicholson, and a coalition of labor, faith, and community leaders for a press conference in further support of Darigold farm workers and in denouncing Darigold member dairy’s employment practices.

First thing Monday morning stencils similar to the efforts iconic image of a dairy worker and dairy cow will appear in front of dozens of Starbucks in downtown Seattle to raise awareness with one of Darigold’s largest buyers and their customers.
