Kings players will help spruce up Roseville recreation center today
The Sacramento Kings squad will be on hand today as the team honors Cesar Chavez by helping refurbish the North Roseville Recreation, Education and Creativity Center.
Before practice, half of the National Basketball Association team will assist at the one-day effort at 313 High Street.
Rookie of the Year candidate Tyreke Evans will be among the players at the ribbon-cutting after practice, according to a team spokesman.
The project includes the donation of a Kings Reading and Learning Center and a major landscaping overhaul.
Work will begin at 10 a.m., with the unveiling scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Afterward, Evans and others will interact with children at the center.
The North Roseville REC Center opened in 1999. The free center aims to improve the quality of life for area children.
