Latino Network is hosting a fundraiser to build a Cesar Chavez monument in downtown Riverside.

The event, called Thrill at the Grill, is set for Saturday, Jan. 12, at Mexicali Grill, 1690 Spruce St., Riverside. Cocktails are at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. The event will feature entertainment by Sol y Norberto, Grupo Folklorico Maya, Felipe Orozco and a deejay. The donation is $25 a person.

Proceeds will benefit the Cesar E. Chavez Memorial, for which ground was broken in November. The statue will be erected by March 31, in time for Chavez’s birthday.
