Message from UFW President Arturo S. Rodriguez: Apply now for DACA 2012 deferred action program on its third-year anniversary!

You need to know that DACA, President Obama’s 2012 policy allowing undocumented young people who were brought to this country as children to stay in the U.S., is still very much alive. Today, the UFW and UFW Foundation celebrate DACA’s third year anniversary. If you think you qualify for this deferred action program that grants a work permit and protection from deportation, please contact the UFW Foundation for help.

Too many people are confused. The recent Texas judge’s decision holding up the President’s 2014 executive action expanding DACA and extending protection to other immigrants does not affect those who are covered by the DACA 2012 policy. The Republicans who sued to stop the President’s executive action last fall on immigration cannot stop the earlier policy letting young people apply to stay in the U.S.

We are optimistic that President Obama's executive order from 2014 will prevail. We will not rest until it is implemented. Meanwhile, the UFW and UFW Foundation will continue helping undocumented young people apply for protection under the DACA 2012 program.

The following are information sessions for people who are eligible for DACA 2012 renewals or qualify under the 2012 guidelines. They are highly encouraged to immediately apply. The UFW Foundation will be conducting DACA 2012 information session at the following locations:
